The “Family Tree" series describes the cycle of life and death as well as the passage of time and negative impact humans have on nature.
“Family Tree” evolved from the moment when my father cut down several trees from the graveyard where my ancestors are buried. I was deeply touched by this action which made me reflect upon the sacrifice of living trees to allow grass thrive on the graves of the dead. Through this series of paintings, I depict the paradox of living trees which are cut down as an indirect way of honoring the dead.
